Five Ideas for Treasure Coast Fall Fun
1. Have fun on a farm!
Fall Festival Days at D&D Family Farms will be held on select dates beginning October 3rd and running through November 1st. It costs $12pp or $10 if bought in advance online. The festival admission includes: a free pie pumpkin, $20 in coupons, unlimited train rides, hayrides, face painting, barrel train, petting zoo, right turn maze, math maze, giant slide, playground, checkers, connect four, corn crib, King of the Hill, and Air Cannon.
2. Paint Some New Fall Decor
Brushing on Bisque in Port St Lucie and Quench Your Palette in Jensen Beach have lots of fall themed canvas painting options through the month of October. Check out their online calendars, sign up, and go paint!
3. Get spooked on a ghost walk!
Guided walks are offered by Port Salerno Ghost Tours (772) 223-5482 or head further south to meet the Ghosts of Palm Beach (646)-493-7092.
4. Learn about creepy crawly things!

Sat., October 3rd @ 10:00am @ Oxbow Eco-Center — Jr. Oxbow Explorers: “Spiders – Scary or Nice?” Often mistaken as insects, spiders have unique characteristics that separate them into a class of their own. Learn about the valiant huntsman, the artistic orbweaver, and some of the greatest moms in the arachnid family. We’ll discuss special adaptations certain spiders have that make them excellent survivalists! Ages 5 and up $6/pp
Sat., October 17th @ 10:00am @ Oxbow Eco-Center — “Carving Pumpkins” Art Class. Bring out your inner child at our 4th annual pumpkin sculpting class with woodcarving master Joe Miller. This is a fun and spooky nature-inspired art class. Ages 10 and up, $20/pp
Thurs., October 29th @ 6:30 pm @ Oxbow Eco-Center — Going Wild for Bats. Special Halloween program. Florida is home to thirteen (13) species of bats that are either year round or seasonal residents. Fear and misunderstanding are the bats’ worst enemies. Come out and see live bats and learn about our nocturnal neighbors. All ages, $5/pp
Sat., October 31st @ 1:00pm @ Oxbow Eco-Center — Snakes, Spiders & Scorpions. Special Halloween program. Experience the life of spiders, scorpions and snakes! Are they really creepy? Learn the truths and myths about these interesting creatures. Leave with a better understanding of these important creatures. You may surprise yourself and dispel some fears along the way! All ages, $5/pp
5. Go Trunk or Treating
Many churches and non-profits hold trunk or treat events. With Halloween falling on a Saturday this year, you can start early and likely hit up more than one!
Some local Trunk or Treats you may want to add to your route:
Tradition Square in Port St Lucie will host a Trunk or Treat on Halloween from 5-9pm. Free admission and parking. Festivities include hayrides and themed photo areas.
In Martin County, the Sheriff’s Office will hold their annual Trunk or Treat free family event at 800 SE Monterey Road. It will also be held from 5-9pm and is a free event!
